Do Not Disturb: Academic Excellence in Progress

There is no busier place than the high school environment.  Days can become filled with post-secondary programs, clubs, community projects, and extracurricular and athletic events. The task of protecting academic excellence can become quite challenging.  At MHS we believe that everything we do should help prepare our kids for life after high school. In order to keep all of our important programs and activities and protect the academic environments, we are implementing academic protection days at the MHS this year. We will be calling those "Do Not Disturb" days. As principal, I will work diligently with the calendar to make sure that nothing interrupts instruction during these DND days and that all trips, events, etc. are scheduled on alternate days.  As an office staff, we commit to no interruptions of your child's instruction during this time. Parents can help protect academic excellence on these days by not scheduling appointments or events that might require early check-outs.  We would also ask that calls or messages to the students be as limited as possible on DND days.  At MHS, we value you input and involvement, and always want to remind you that we have an open door policy.  We hope that you will help us make this a positive and effective attempt to serve our students in the best way possible.  Below you will find a schedule for September's Do Not Disturb days.

  • September 9,11,16, 23, 25, and 30.
